{"id":460,"date":"2009-02-12T09:29:43","date_gmt":"2009-02-12T15:29:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/?p=460"},"modified":"2009-02-12T09:29:43","modified_gmt":"2009-02-12T15:29:43","slug":"a-little-local-colour","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rglongpre.ca\/pilgrim\/index.php\/2009\/02\/12\/a-little-local-colour\/","title":{"rendered":"A little local colour"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/dsc01853.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-461\" title=\"dsc01853\" src=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/dsc01853.jpg?w=266\" alt=\"dsc01853\" width=\"266\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>\u00a0A bit of colour with not much to say.\u00a0 This is what we see during a typical day strolling around our beach area.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/dsc02778.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-462\" title=\"dsc02778\" src=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/dsc02778.jpg?w=237\" alt=\"dsc02778\" width=\"237\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>Of course, I am leaving the work of naming these birds with you as I don&#8217;t have a book to deal with that here with me.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0That said, it is easy to figure out that this first bird is a sandpiper of some sort.\u00a0 As for the bird on the right sitting on top of a plam stump, it is a beautiful little thing with a faint blush of pink on its belly.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/dsc04012.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-465\" title=\"dsc04012\" src=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/dsc04012.jpg?w=250\" alt=\"dsc04012\" width=\"250\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This bird is from the heron or ibis family.\u00a0 It was a rare visitor that took quite a few shots and about 1o minutes worth of stalking in order to get a decent photo.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/dsc04067.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-466\" title=\"dsc04067\" src=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/dsc04067.jpg?w=289\" alt=\"dsc04067\" width=\"289\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>I know that I have a gazillion photos of Brown Pelicans but these two were sitting so patiently for me, almost begging to have their photo taken.\u00a0 Most brown pelicans are actually brown.\u00a0 These ones are the dressed up versions which have a beautiful yellow crest on their heads.<\/p>\n<p>And of course, it is hard to go very long on our walks either along the beach or along the beach road, without seeing yet another iguana.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/dsc04070.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-467\" title=\"dsc04070\" src=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/dsc04070.jpg\" alt=\"dsc04070\" width=\"700\" height=\"437\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/dsc04012.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0A bit of colour with not much to say.\u00a0 This is what we see during a typical day strolling around our beach area.
