{"id":382,"date":"2009-02-05T08:58:39","date_gmt":"2009-02-05T14:58:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/?p=382"},"modified":"2009-02-05T08:58:39","modified_gmt":"2009-02-05T14:58:39","slug":"time-out-for-relaxing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rglongpre.ca\/pilgrim\/index.php\/2009\/02\/05\/time-out-for-relaxing\/","title":{"rendered":"Time out for relaxing"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_379\" style=\"width: 710px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/dsc03514.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-379\" class=\"size-full wp-image-379\" title=\"dsc03514\" src=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/dsc03514.jpg\" alt=\"Breakfast on the patio of the hacienda.\" width=\"700\" height=\"350\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-379\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Breakfast on the patio of the hacienda.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-376\" title=\"dsc03471\" src=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/dsc03471.jpg?w=225\" alt=\"dsc03471\" width=\"225\" height=\"299\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s post is all about time spent around the hacienda with Roger and Suzanne.\u00a0 Before breakfast both Roger and I were busy being &#8220;birders&#8221;, a new career for me anyway.\u00a0 What does that mean?\u00a0 Well, it is basically trying to track as many different birds as possible.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/dsc037241.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-387\" title=\"dsc037241\" src=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/dsc037241.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"dsc037241\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a>The hacienda grounds are packed with a number of different speices.\u00a0 Of course, blackbirds, grackles, flycatchers and kingbirds seemed to be the predominant birds found on the grounds.\u00a0 That said, some interesting and beautiful birds such as the Green Jay pictured here added a lot of colour to the mix.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/dsc03483.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-377\" title=\"dsc03483\" src=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/dsc03483.jpg?w=237\" alt=\"dsc03483\" width=\"237\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>We saw and photographed vireos, orioles and other birds which I still haven&#8217;t found names for.\u00a0 The orioles were incredible bright golden orange birds.\u00a0 Needless to say, I got a lot of photos of these birds.\u00a0 However, the Mot-mot was the most exotic bird that we found.\u00a0 This photo doesn&#8217;t show it, but it has a long tail that has two feathers with the feathers being nothing but a spine for most of the part with bright blue feathery ends.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/dsc03458.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-375\" title=\"dsc03458\" src=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/dsc03458.jpg?w=227\" alt=\"dsc03458\" width=\"227\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>Another area of the grounds was set aside for growing fodder for the horses.\u00a0 This photo shows the plant and one of the hacienda workers busy chopping down some fresh fodder for the horses.\u00a0 Since labour is cheap and machinery is expensive, harvesting the fodder is done as it has been done for centuries.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>With breakfast finished and plans made for the day, we then set off for Izamal where we would discover more about the early Spanish presence in Mexico.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, I do have to put in one more photo as my good wife feels that you should know that I was there as well.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/dsc03486.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-378\" title=\"dsc03486\" src=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/dsc03486.jpg\" alt=\"dsc03486\" width=\"700\" height=\"387\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s post is all about time spent around the hacienda with Roger and Suzanne.\u00a0 Before breakfast both Roger and I were busy being &#8220;birders&#8221;, a new career for me anyway.\u00a0 What does that mean?\u00a0 Well, it is basically trying to &hellip;
