class=\"wp-caption-text\">Learning to make a hammock with a local woman in her home.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Soon after we entered the fishing town of Rio Lagartos, we booked our rooms and a boat tour to see the flamingos for the next morning.\u00a0 We then were free to discover a bit about the town before it was time for supper.\u00a0 As you can see, we ended up in a local woman&#8217;s home.\u00a0 We spotted her working on a hammock through an open door.\u00a0 Curious, we asked if we could look closer at her work.\u00a0 When all was said and done, Maureen ended up learning the pattern and ended up doing a fair number of stitches before we decided to head on.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/dsc02988.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-283\" title=\"dsc02988\" src=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/dsc02988.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"dsc02988\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a>Since it was late in the afternoon, a lot of boats were resting at anchor in the protected harbour.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/dsc03013.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-285\" title=\"dsc03013\" src=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/dsc03013.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"dsc03013\" width=\"300\" height=\"187\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We were told that not far from our lodgings for the evening, there were quite a few egrets and cranes and herons coming in to roost.\u00a0 We raced the setting sun in order to attempt to get photos of the event.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-286\" title=\"dsc03016\" src=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/dsc03016.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"dsc03016\" width=\"300\" height=\"189\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/dsc03009.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-284\" title=\"dsc03009\" src=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/dsc03009.jpg?w=257\" alt=\"dsc03009\" width=\"257\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>Even though the light was quickly fading, we did manage to get a few decent shots of the birds such as this shot of a Snowy Egret.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The next photo shows four White Ibis birds.\u00a0 We also saw a few blue herons perched in the branches.\u00a0 The whole thing was absolutely amazing and made us wish that we had been there about fifteen minutes earlier for better lighting for the pictures.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_287\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a height=\"161\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-287\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sunset over the harbour in Rio Lagartos.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>We took our time returning back to the hotel and restaurant where we took photos of the sun setting over the water of the harbour.\u00a0 It was a magical time of day for us.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/dsc03038.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-288\" title=\"dsc03038\" src=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/dsc03038.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"dsc03038\" width=\"300\" height=\"165\" \/><\/a>With that excitement over, it was time for a good meal of local seafood.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>After eating we relaxed with our drinks before heading to an early bedtime as we had a 7:00 AM boat ride to see pink flamingos waiting for us.\u00a0 Our
