{"id":136,"date":"2009-01-16T10:03:01","date_gmt":"2009-01-16T16:03:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/?p=136"},"modified":"2009-01-16T10:03:01","modified_gmt":"2009-01-16T16:03:01","slug":"the-ruins-of-chuburna-puerto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rglongpre.ca\/pilgrim\/index.php\/2009\/01\/16\/the-ruins-of-chuburna-puerto\/","title":{"rendered":"The Ruins"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_137\" style=\"width: 710px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/dsc02298.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-137\" class=\"size-full wp-image-137\" title=\"dsc02298\" src=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/dsc02298.jpg\" alt=\"The ruins as seen from the beach\" width=\"700\" height=\"406\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-137\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The ruins as seen from the beach<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Another day, another adventure.\u00a0 With the weather being bit off for strolls along the beach, we decided to head into town along the back lanes.\u00a0 Once we made it to the village we decided to keep going further in hopes of finding the ruins we had heard abot.\u00a0 We ended up following some back roads which were sand trails, not too sure exactly where they were taking us.\u00a0 Along these trails we saw that the locals had been using the area as a convenient garbage can.\u00a0 Finally, in the distance I spotted what looked like a spike of stone sticking up which suggested we wouldn&#8217;t have to walk much further.\u00a0 After hiking for about five kilometres we had come upon the ruins.\u00a0 They weren&#8217;t the most impressive ruins, obviously as you can see from the photo, but to us they were definitely worth the long walk.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_138\" style=\"width: 710px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/dsc02334.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-138\" class=\"size-full wp-image-138\" title=\"dsc02334\" src=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/dsc02334.jpg\" alt=\"The two of us within the centre of the ruins.\" width=\"700\" height=\"511\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-138\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The two of us within the centre of the ruins.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>We wandered around in the ruins looking at all there was to see.\u00a0 We did see an old well, a cooking area, likely for smoking hanging fish in addition to the walls.\u00a0 In the centre of the opening, someone had recently built a stone circle, perhaps for a fire pit.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/dsc02339.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-139\" title=\"dsc02339\" src=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/dsc02339.jpg\" alt=\"dsc02339\" width=\"319\" height=\"245\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/dsc02347.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-140\" title=\"dsc02347\" src=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/dsc02347.jpg\" alt=\"dsc02347\" width=\"341\" height=\"276\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Of course, we just had to take some photographs of ourselves at the site.\u00a0 Hopefully, the pictures capture the scene as well as the atmosphere.\u00a0 There is no doubt that we will be heading that way again someday, perhaps when it is sunny so that we can take photos under different lighting conditions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Another day, another adventure.\u00a0 With the weather being bit off for strolls along the beach, we decided to head into town along the back lanes.\u00a0 Once we made it to the village we decided to keep going further in hopes &hellip;
