{"id":125,"date":"2009-01-15T13:51:33","date_gmt":"2009-01-15T19:51:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/?p=125"},"modified":"2009-01-15T13:51:33","modified_gmt":"2009-01-15T19:51:33","slug":"chuburna-puerto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rglongpre.ca\/pilgrim\/index.php\/2009\/01\/15\/chuburna-puerto\/","title":{"rendered":"Chuburna Puerto"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_126\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/dsc02162.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-126\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-126\" title=\"dsc02162\" src=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/dsc02162.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"Morning in our villa, checking e-mail while having a cup of coffee.\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-126\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Morning in our villa, checking e-mail while having a cup of coffee.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Every morning is a good morning here in Chuburna.\u00a0 Typically we go for a walk before sitting down for our first morning cup of coffee.\u00a0 When it is cool and windy, we have our coffee in the villa instead of out on the patio facing the sea.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a good time for checking e-mail and reading various online newspapers.\u00a0\u00a0Of course, it is also a perfect time for talking with family using Skype.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/dsc02252.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-129\" title=\"dsc02252\" src=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/dsc02252.jpg\" alt=\"dsc02252\" width=\"346\" height=\"281\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>With breakfast over and ready for another walk, we decided to walk along the highway, a narrow, rough paved road for a different path in hopes of seeing different scenery.\u00a0 We did get to see and photograph a number of things, birds and such along the way to the village.\u00a0 At the entrance to the village, we came across the sign indicating that the village was also a port (puerto).\u00a0 We haven&#8217;t been to the port yet, that will come on a different day.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/dsc02167.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-127\" title=\"dsc02167\" src=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/dsc02167.jpg\" alt=\"dsc02167\" width=\"315\" height=\"215\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0We walked through the town until we came to the community graveyard on the northwest corner of the village, not too far from the beach.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We wandered among the grave markers, some of which were shrines and some of which were simple wooden crosses.\u00a0 Looking out from the back of the graveyard, the sand and scrub bushes continued westward.\u00a0\u00a0 Walking along the sand trail we came across this family fixing their palm-leaf stalk fence.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/dsc02185.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-128\" title=\"dsc02185\" src=\"http:\/\/saskatchewangypsy.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/dsc02185.jpg\" alt=\"dsc02185\" width=\"333\" height=\"305\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0We then headed back to our villa so that Maureen could get ready for an afternoon outing with her friend Kathy.\u00a0 The two women were headed to Merida leaving me home alone for the afternoon and early evening.\u00a0 Not to worry though, as I had planned for a walk with the camera to the south, to the sea lagoon that stretches from Progreso westwards to points yet undetermined.<\/p>\n<p>I walked for about three hours with camera in hand making sure that I took more than enough photos.\u00a0 Perhaps someday I will show some of them to you.\u00a0 Just ask.\u00a0 But for now, this post is done so I will say, hasta manana &#8211;
