I guess this is no surprise to everyone. One can’t go golfing on a public course without wearing clothes. My wife and I go on occasion to the nearby golf course which is a half-hour away. It’s not a tour-level course. It is more like a pasture course with faux-grass carpet serving as tee boxes, fairways with gopher holes, and sand greens. No on putts on these greens. The course’s unspoken rule is if you stop within a flag length of the hole, it is a one putt. Otherwise, it is a two put. As for sand traps, they don’t exist. The rough? Well, let’s just say good luck finding your ball and being able to play it. Lost balls are a fact of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today was a different kind of day. Neither of us lost a ball. That said, we did find six balls that others lost while searching for our own balls. We don’t do all that bad on the par 35 course. Today she got three pars and I got five. In the end we played bogey golf. There is always a hole from hell if counting score. We don’t count score anymore. Well, I do keep track of shots over par without using a score card. I just want to know if I am slowly getting better. I used to be a good golfer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We haven’t golfed for more than ten years on a regular basis. I have typically golfed two rounds with my grandson for the past three years. Not counting score keeps the game enjoyable and we get to laugh at each other’s mistakes, as well as our own. Laughter is good.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
