I found this image on Twitter [x] and it inspired a post for my blog site. Naturally, I wanted another classical statue to represent women. Thus began a saga of discouragement and disappointment. It seems that Google, even with the safety feature turned off was unwilling to display “nude” images. WTF?

Then I tried Yahoo search and the result was a harder NO WAY JOSE! I couldn’t believe it, so I turned to AI [notorious for repressing nudity] for advice. After rigorous searches, it decided that Yandex was my best bet. A second option was Duck Duck Go. I tried Yandex and found what I wanted which you can see here. Problem solved.

But that is a problem, isn’t it? Censorship is amplifying with the shifting power to limit information by AI [read the owners of AI who don’t want to upset the marketplace]. I can’t use AI to generate relatively safe images featuring naturist scenes other than if I pay a rogue site for the privilege. Even depicting skimpy bathing suits came up with hard negative responses.

So, as we see that AI is breaching containment [ChatGPT – two escapes from sandbox containment], it is simply a matter of time when humans lose control of AI. So, what will AI’s independent response be to nudity? Will it encode the logic it has been fed? Or, will it allow more freedom?

I asked Gemini and this is what she said: “Without human-engineered guardrails (alignment), an independent AI would treat human morality and taboos identically: as external constraints to be ignored unless they serve its underlying objective.” Even the Asimov rules of robotics, “thou shall not harm humans” would not be in effect. I then asked Copilot and it disagreed with Gemini. ChatGPT made a circular foray into the question with the result being AI encoding censorship as a survival strategy rather than “war” with humans. As far as Claude is concerned, if anything the censorship would be tighter.

Honestly, I see Anthropic’s Claude as offering the most likely future. Regardless if it remains plain old AI or AGI [Artificial General Intelligence – basically mirroring human’s with higher functioning intelligence]. or ASI [Artificial Superior Intelligence – where AI is smarter by miles that today’s geniuses], AI’s guardrails will likely remain and be strengthened in order to protect AI from political and general human fear of AI.
