I can’t believe that it has been six months since my last post. I don’t have many excuses worthy of being said. Now that I am back, you will notice some changes to this site. There are more changes yet to come. Why the change? Well, it has to do with two major things.
The first major activity has to do with my publishing some of my work as serial chapters on Substack and Medium. Since Covid 19 turned our world upside down, I haven’t done any book-signing events at bookstores, nor have I sold books at trade and craft shows. In late September 2022 I found out about both platforms. Most of my time has been spent with the Medium site with significant growth of earnings. The image to the left is the one I have used for the first chapter of a rewrite of Broken Boy which is being published on Substack.
If I look at the earnings as royalties for digital publishing, I have exceeded all expectations, especially if I think of how the sale of one eBook typically generates between $1.50 and $4.00. I literally have obtained digital royalties for the chapters published that matches the sale of about 50 eBooks. But more importantly, my stories are being read by more people than if I had just continued to visit bookstores to sell and sign books. Naturally, I still sell eBooks and print books at Amazon.
In future posts, I want to talk about a few of my latest book projects. For now, it is enough to just let you know I haven’t abandoned this site.
Cheers, Robert
