I suspect in one case her thoughts were of great dislike of me! There’s always one who doesn’t like you very much, and I can usually spot them before the coach is boarded and take extra pains to be specially nice to them! It makes it so much harder for them to be nasty to me!

It is interesting how many people are terrified of their thoughts. They’d do anything to avoid the thoughts. I feel for those people … always plugged in. Always distracted.

Good points.
I like you do an extrovert type job but am more introverted. Example, I just did a couple of days trip to Europe(mainland) with a group of 38 kids aged 12/13 and their teachers. MOst of the teachers were unable to just sit and enjoy the ride, and entertain themselves with their own thoughts. I could quite happily have done without the word games, the memory games and the jokes and ancedotes. It’s a long time to be on a coach, but I can keep my own head busy enough. But I was very glad to get back each night to my own room at the Youth Hostel to recharge.

Hi Paul. In truth, no one is fully extrovert or introvert. One is always somewhere in between constantly shifting between the two poles of “attitude-type.” I am predominantly introverted in attitude, but have enjoyed a full career of operating as though I was an extrovert. I “know” this because of which attitude pulls me when my batteries need charging.

Hey, Robert. I’m kind of stuck in the middle between the two. It’s interesting. I like to be around people sometimes, but it takes a huge amount of energy from me. I can only handle the exposure for 3 or 4 hours, max, then I have to go back into the cave. It used to bother me, but not any more.

Some people used to take issue with it and think that I didn’t like them or was antisocial, but others realized that: “That’s just Paul”. I don’t worry about it anymore and don’t feel bad about turning down invitations to ‘gather’ or party. Sometimes, I’ll accept, most times not.

I have always identified with the Great BLue, hence, I cal them ‘she’! I am content to be alone, too. My 3 children are quite different in personality. Nice post. The heron have left us here in Muskoka. Glad you’re looking after her!
