Even Rocks Are Part of Anima Mundi

Well, I am continuing with the experimenting with just a hint of colour in the photos, searching for what will be uncovered, not only for a possible SoFoBoMo 2010 project, but also in terms of active imagination, a way to poke at the edges of consciousness.  I was tempted to say unconsciousness, but by definition, the unconscious contents are beyond the direct reach of our consciousness.

My first thoughts are how this is representative of depression, of soul loss.  Yet, with the presence of colour, even only faintly, there is an element of hope within the depressive framework.  Midlife seems to throw us curve balls in the attempt to take us off our game as we’ve structured it.  By midlife, we typically have moved into cruise control having achieved goals or else reached our career potentials.  One rightly expects to be rewarded for this dedication to life, to participation and to an honest work ethic.  Little did we expect that another agenda was waiting for us, an agenda that would demand that we take our strength, skills and energy to recover and renew soul.  As each of us renews soul, there is a curious healing of the world soul, the soul of nature, anima mundi.
