A world of shades and shadows

I took this photo early this afternoon. There were actually two young Magnificent Frigate birds flying above the villa I am staying along the Yucatan’s north shore.  I took the photo in colour using my digital camera, but decided on presenting it here in black and white, in a assorted array of grays with black and white being a minority condition.

In life, in is in the gray area that one finds what one needs.  Black and white are too dangerous being holders of the archetypal world.  We dip into the unconscious, usually in dreams, in order to approach faces of the archetypes.  We leave these meetings with bits and peices that can become part of our consciousness, a world of an endless array of gray hues.  Dreams allow us to enter into the presence of aspects of the archetypes.  The dream world is a world of shades and shadows.
